What a flippin’ fabulous end to the half-term. Pancakes in the air, pancakes on the floor, pancakes in your hair and pancakes on the door.
The weather for this year’s pancake race was a complete contrast to last year’s but that didn’t slow us down one bit. Our classes took it in turns to negotiate the obstacle course laid out in the front playground. We had to quick step through rope ladders and balance along beams. At the end of each obstacle was a hoop to stand in whilst we tossed our pancakes high into the air. Some of us even caught them again.
Pancakes, pancakes everywhere and not a drop to eat.
After a quick dash into the back playground we lined up ready for a pancake race. To give us enough space we split into a boys race and a girls race for each class. The excitement mounted as we inched forward on the start line trying to sneak out a tiny advantage over the others, then
The races were close affairs, even if there was a conspicuous absence of pancake tossing. All the racers were cheered on by the stalwart band of parents standing in the cold and occasional rain shower. It wouldn’t have been the same without you.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of you who sponsored us and came to support us. We had a great time and can’t wait til next year.
