Interview with Mr Kerin

Mr Kerin is our Dragonflies class teacher.  We thought you might like to know a little bit more about the ever smiling man behind the beard.

Name: Mr Kerin
Class: Year 2 – Dragonflies
Role: Literacy Co-Ordinator

What first inspired you to go into teaching?

I always enjoyed my time at school so have happy memories.  And because of these fond memories I have been drawn to being a teacher. But honestly, I am a big kid who likes making a fool of myself, and enjoys seeing children learn and have fun.

What is your favourite food?

My favourite food is Burgers, shepherds pie, my mums meatballs and tatties, jam roly poly, curry, chicken salad and Turkish Delights!

What is your favourite book?

Traction Man is HereMy favourite picture book is ‘Traction Man is here’ by Mini Grey. I love how the adventure takes place around the house and how its the imagination of the boy that creates the story. The children have also always loved reading and working with it too.
frankensteinMy favourite adult book is ‘Frankenstein’ by Mary Shelly. I didn’t read this book until I got into my 30s and was blown away by the story. It was such a great story and I have read it numerous times since.
The HobbitMy favourite children’s book is ‘The Hobbit’ by JRR Tolkien. I love the adventure Bilbo has on the way to finding the Ring. It keeps you gripped from beginning to end with lots of amazing characters and picturesque worlds.

Its got to be Buzz Lightyear, just because I would like to say  “To infinity and beyond!
