Wilstead Lower School is a Foundation School within the Vale of Marston Schools Trust, employing 23 members of staff.
We have 6 teaching staff and 10 teaching and classroom assistants who are all supported by an office manager, 5 lunchtime supervisors, a site manager and cleaning staff. The school operates from a single building on a site of around 4 acres which includes playing fields that are open for general use by the local community and a play area managed by the Parish Council.
An independent pre-school operates from a separate building adjacent to the school and also runs before and after-school clubs and holiday activities. They work closely with us to help children make a smooth transition into ‘big school’ and we include the pre-school pupils in many of our family activities.
Our annual budget for 2013/14 is £602,659 (excluding capital). On average, we spend 82% of our budget on staff; 6% on our facilities and 5% on curriculum and resources. The chart below shows the break-down of our annual spend.
